"How can I understand unless someone guides me?" was the answer given by the Ethiopian
eunuch when Philip asked him if the former understood the Bible which he was reading (cf.
Acts 8:26-40). There are many in our country and world wide who read the Bible without
understanding it. There are many more who are not yet introduced to the Bible. This Online
Bible College is an attempt of the CCBI Commission for Bible to bring Bible to the people of
all the walks of life and to explain its meaning and message.
The content of the course aims to give the basic information about the Bible and all the books
contained in it. It also in simple and clear terms explains the life-giving messages of the
Bible which will guide any human person to lead a happy and grace filled life. Any person
who under goes this course will easily understand the Bible when he/she reads it personally
or when it is read to him/her in the liturgy and prayer services.
Who can take up this course? Any individual who is eager to know more about the Bible in
particular in any Christian / lay faithful who has some exposure to the Bible in the personal or
community reading of it. This course will enhance their knowledge with less cost, profitably
using their free time.
The priests, religious both men and women, can also take up this course as part of their on
going formation, as this course brings the updated information and knowledge of the Bible in
the scholarly circle. This can be also introduced to those under formation (aspirants, novices,
juniors, those in preparation for the vows and seminarians) as this is written in simple and
easy style.
